Nanofiltration:
As a result, the use of nanofiltration technology leads to the passage of monovalent ions, while blocking other- two and more values. As a result, the system automatically removes substances from the water, which can be considered harmful, including heavy metals and pollution.
Nanofiltration processes are used both in industry as initial desalination and in the case of households, in the treatment of groundwater and surface water, in water softening, removal of heavy metals and reduction of salt content.
Principles of nanofiltration:
The process of nanofiltration, similar as reverse osmosis, is based on a membrane filtration system and differential pressure on both sides of the barrier. However, in the case of the latter the membrane has the so-called small size filtration mesh, nanofiltration of water allows for a slightly wider flow.
Filtration occurs during pressure differences between the individual sides of the membrane. The process of nanofiltration causes that organic compounds are retained on it. Low pressure during the course of the process means that clean water can be obtained with low energy consumption.
Nanofiltration benefits:
Due to the higher permeability, the membrane used in nanofiltration means that the water obtained is not only purified from unfavorable substances, i.e. metals, but bacteria, viruses or pesticides, but also rich in minerals.
What's more, nanofiltration of water is considered a cost-effective solution. The system is characterized by high efficiency and preparation of water directly for consumption; without the need for external storage or any forms of processing, e.g. additional mineralization. As a result, nanofiltration belongs to the most dynamically developing forms of water treatment.
